Managing Editor: Duties include design, layout, editing, and proofing of print journal; hiring and coordinating genre editors, interns, and online staff; organzing, promoting, and hosting events including the Gulf Coast Reading Series, Houston Indie Book Festival, the Gulf Coast Gala, and AWP events; designing all promotional materials, including posters, ads, bookmarks, business cards, and t-shirts; updating the submission manager, blog, and website; preparing and sending proofs and contracts to contributors; working with art editor to select featured artists and images; attending board meetings and taking the minutes; organizing and promoting our biannual contest; and overseeing interns and editorial assistants.
Poetry Editor: Duties included soliciting and selcting poetry for publication; reading and distributing submissions; training and organizing assistant poetry editors; organzing and hosting editorial meetings; and corresponding with contributors.
